After another hiatus -- this time for a vacation in Alaska -- work resumed on the workshop. First up
was installing the new Gladiator cabinets: two base cabinets, and a tall cabinet.

The backsplash of the countertop is bolted to the concrete wall to keep the unit secure durring projects.

The anchoring bolts are concealed by this powerstrip. I chose one with the diamond plate pattern to
match the face of the cabinets.

With the countertop and cabinets level and secure, the tool chest was rolled into place.

The place I purchased the cabinets had a special, so I got this wall cabinet for free.
You can never have too much storage.

The workbench area is finished, and an old friend makes a triumphant return. The Heineken light atop the
tall cabinet has been with me since 1989, and spent the last few years in storage. Now it has a home.

Looking towards the new door to the basement. The sea shell shadowboxes are for decoration, but
you'll notice some safety-related wall hangings as well.

The workshop has a fire extinguisher with signage for easy location...

...and the room also has a new smoke detector as well. Both products are from Kidde, of course.

No, it's not candy. It's an earplug dispenser for hearing protection.

The freezer fits into the corner. More accurately, it JUST fits. I wish I had provided a little more room.

Looking towards the doors to the entrance doors.

Not to be forgotten, the other side of the new wall -- the side facing the storage area -- gets paint, too.
I used leftover paint from the master bedroom accent wall. The bench grinder in the forground will be
moved into the workshop.
