June 10, 2006 - Work Day 7

Using a plate compactor rented from Home Depot, I compacted the patio base, as well as the walkways
on either side of the patio. For the walkways, I spread the salvaged patio base from the old walkway.
I used a very thin layer of sand over the patio base.
The compactor made short work of the walkways, which will be stamped concrete.

The mulch bed is also starting to take shape.
A view from the pool deck.

...And from the yard.
Things are starting to look a little cleaner.

We haven't seen this view in a while. This is from the Dining Room picture window.

The patio is going in! The mitre saw has a diamond blade in it.

What's that little dot under the center of the patio?

A lucky penny, face-up, marks the date I installed it.
I had to start with the red blocks, since they were slightly taller than the white ones that will surround it.
