With the initial sanding of the walls complete, work begins on patching the damage. The wall with
the windows is mudded, while the corner of the adjacent wall shows an arched crack.

To repair this crack, a utility knife is used to score a box around the crack.

The paper wallboard facing is chiseled away to create a recessed area around the crack.

Fiberglass mesh joint tape is inlayed over the crack.

Now the area will receive three coats of joint compound to complete the patch.
