March 10-23, 2007

Priming continues on the new window casings.

The new closet doors are primed as well.

Kilz Premium water-based primer is my primer of choice.

After the windows, doors and baseboards were primed, I moved on to the walls.

I like to give all the walls a primer coat to ensure an even look to the final color.

The thick primer also smooths out minor imperfections and seals the spackle used to fill holes.

The bathroom is also primed. Removing the old light fixture revealed sub-standard electical work.

The primed walls are smooth and even...ready for a color.

The closet interior is also primed.

The wall priming complete, work turns to the ceiling, which receives a fresh coat of white ceiling paint.

The ceiling of the bathoom is also painted. Since the bathroom is newer, it has a "popcorn" ceiling.

Since the master bathroom is out-of-commission, it was a great time to re-caulk the sink and shower.

Work now turns to finishing the doors and trim, which will all receive two coats of high-gloss white.

The first coat is under way.
