Painting begins in the foyer by cutting in around all the trim. This included painting the oak cleat
for the hallway mirror.

The color is "champagne gold," a tannish-yellow.

After the cutting-in was complete, I let the paint dry. I've found that letting the cut-in
work dry first minimizes the risk of paint runs when you roll on the wall paint.

While the paint in the foyer dried, I turned to installing the new heating baseboards.

With the baseboard covers installed, work can turn to electrical. The actual heating element will be
plumbed later this summer, before the cool weather returns.

Like every other room I've renovated, this one is getting new outlets. The outlets are 40 years old,
dirty, and no longer hold plugs very well.

So all the outlets in the room get replaced and covered with new covers.

All the outlets are replaced.

And the new switches are installed.
