While the wall is uncovered, I used gap-filling spray insulation to seal spaces between the masonry
and between floors. I'll follow up later with fiberglass batting.

With the old heating baseboards elements removed, I sealed up the hole in the floor. The replacement
heaters won't wrap around to this wall anymore, so I needed to seal the hole in the floor.

The table saw is set up. Work now turns to building the boxes for the bookcase. The first step here
was to rip down 4x8 sheets of 3/4" oak plywood to 12" widths.

After ripping the boards, I trimmed them to length. I'm building four bookcase boxes which will abut each
other to create one large bookcase. The piece in the photo will one of the sides of the box.

Using a 3/4" mortising bit, I routed a channel 1/4" deep on each end of the board. This groove will
accept the top and bottom boards of the bookcase box.

A board is clamped in, prepped for the router.

The router guide allowed me to make consistent straight cuts.

With the eight side boards routed, work now turns to drilling the shelf peg holes.
