Welcome to the Kid's Bedroom Project. I know it's been more than a year since my last project,
but that's about to change. First, some "before" pictures.

This room is currently a spare bedroom used as a "play" room. With another addition to
the family on the way, however, this room is going to become a proper bedroom.

I'm no fan of wallpaper, especially when it has a floral print victorian
print. Nor am I fan of the
turquoise rug, or the door that swings into your emergency escape path. Sometimes I shake my
head in bewilderment at the choices of the previous owners.

The room features a generous closet, but the old bar-and-shelf is less than optimal for storage.
A closet system will be part of the renovations.

One nice feature in the bedrooms is the crown moulding and the tall baseboards you can see in
other photos. But oh, how I hate wallpaper.

I also noticed that the previous owners had brown 20-amp wall plugs. A quick look at the electrical box
revealed the 20-amp plugs were on a 15-amp circuit. Not good. I'll be changing those.

The first wall took a long time to strip, since the wallboard only had a thin coat of sizing under it.
The wallboard is in decent shape, but will require a good amount of patching and sanding.
