Welcome to the Guest Bathroom project. This first-floor half bath had been renovated within
the last few years, but the previous homeowners had cut some corners.

The obvious shortcut was the peel-and-stick vinyl tiles, which had already come up in places.
After removing the pedestal under the sink, and the toilet, I was ready to get rid of the vinyl squares.

Another odd shortcut was the threshold. It didn't line up under the door, so when you closed the
bathroom door, you saw some of the kitchen flooring inside the bathroom.

Since the barthroom is so small, I decided to go with a higher-end black granite floor. The black
is pretty stunning, as well as highly polished, and the reflection could add depth to the small floor.

After removing the vinyl tiles near the door, I cut the granite threshold to length, and laid adhesive.

The threshold is installed and properly aligned under the door, which I had to cut to accommodate
the height of the new granite.

The sink is removed to prepare for painting of the wainscoting and the wall.

The walls were a lemon yellow which didn't look too bad. But they needed to be toned down a bit.
