Matching rails are installed on the far side of the arbor. With the main structure complete, I transferred
the vine to the new arbor and dismantled the old.
The old arbor is gone, and the grapevine has a new home.
A view from the other side.
Using leftover copper from the support rails, I created deocrative bars at each end of the arbor.
They are countersunk into the two rails, and offer a place to hang wind chimes, etc. But mostly,
they're a decorative feature.
The posts are capped with decorative copper caps, and stones are piled underneath as a finishing touch.
A view of both sides of the arbor, looking towards the main deck and last year's patio project.
It won't be long before the arbor is full of green grape leaves. Hopefully we'll have some grapes next year.
As always, thanks for sharing the journey with me. Stay tuned for more projects.
