Work turns to taping and joint compound. Metal corner bead is installed and taped. I prefer the
self-adhesive Fiberglas mesh tape. I find it's easier to work with than paper, and creates a stronger,
smoother finish, because it acts like rebar in the plaster.

The walls are taped and ready for mudding.

The first coat of joint compound goes up. I apply a liberal first coat.

Once dry, I immediately add a second coat without sanding. I wait to sand after the two coats are dry.

The first coat went on very well, so I can already tell it's going to come out great.

The walls begin to blend into the ceiling.
